WILMINGTON — Paula Pope Campfield, age 80, of Wilmington, North Carolina, received her eternal wings in Heaven on Monday, June 1, 2026 surrounded by family.
Paula was born on October 21st, 1945, in High Point, North Carolina daughter to the late Joseph Paul Pope and Dorothy VanBenthuysen. In addition to her parents, Paula was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Campfield; sister Diane Davis, and an Angel grandbaby.
Paula retired from Walmart after thirty years. She showed true dedication to her faith and family. Paula was a lifetime member of Peace Baptist Church. In her younger years Paula was one of the youngest girls to be a part of the Girl’s Auxiliary within her church growing up.
She is survived by her daughter; Jessica Hair and her very special son by marriage, Michael Hair; her granddaughters; Samantha Hair and Courtney Cooper (Myles); Sister, Shirley Wiles (Bill) Sister in law; Mary Ann Campfield. Paula also extended her family wings to her nieces, nephews, and adopted grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
