WILMINGTON — Becky Sue Williams, born on April 17, 1945, in Huntington, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on May 13, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 81.
Becky was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who cherished spending time with her family. She found joy in quilting, sewing, crafting, and enjoying puzzles and board games. Her gentle spirit and creativity touched the lives of those around her.
A long-time member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC, Becky’s faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Her presence in the church community was cherished, and she leaves behind many friends who will miss her dearly.
Becky is preceded in death by her father, Donald Le Grande; mother, Venus Johnson Le Grande; infant grandson, Jacob Cash Williams; and sister, Donna Malicote. Though their loss left a profound mark on her heart, she carried their memories with grace and resilience.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James “Jim” Robert Williams; her son, Jason Douglas Williams of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC; her brother, Jeff Le Grande and his wife Cindy; as well as numerous friends and extended family members who will remember her fondly.
A graveside service to honor Becky’s life will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington. The service will be led by Rev. George Potter.
In this time of loss, her family finds comfort in the memories they shared with her and in the legacy of love she leaves behind. Becky will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
