WILMINGTON — Frank Walter Wittkofsky, 79, passed peacefully from his earthly life on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at home with family.
He was born November 22, 1946 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the son of Frank Edward Wittkofsky and Dorothy Breech Rusch. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Wittkofsky.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Rosemarie Wittkofsky; son, Frank Lee Wittkofsky; daughters, Patricia Wittkofsky and Susan Wittkofsky; grandchildren, Jesse Horn, Christopher Wittkofsky, Brittany Wittkofsky, and Rachel Wittkofsky; great grandson, Greyson Horn; two brothers; many extended family and dear friends.
For 23 years, Frank worked with the City of Wilmington. He served two years in the US Army.
Frank was a hard working man with a good heart always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Many days Frank and his dog, Tide, enjoyed fishing trips and eating a hamburger lunch together. Tide was Frank’s constant companion for 16 years. Frank loved the outdoors, feeding and watching the squirrels and birds. Most of all Frank adored his family. Frank will be missed and forever loved and remembered.
A private family gathering at the home will be at a later date.
