OAK ISLAND — Deborah “Debi” T. Deal, 72, of Oak Island, NC, passed away peacefully om Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, “Brunswick House” following a time of declining health.
Debi was born in Conway, SC on January 12, 1954, and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Vernell Martin Turner. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eric Washington.
Debi had many things she loved, she worked as a lab technician at Conway Mill, Conway, SC and Cannon Mills, China Grove, NC. She was a Physical Therapist in Salisbury, NC. She was a Massage Therapist for 20 years. She loved rescuing animals and volunteering for the pet ministry. She enjoyed making crafts, traveling, the beach, listening to music, and going to church. She was a loving mother, wife, and dog lover and cherished her 6 dogs.
Surviving are her loving husband of over 40 years and caregiver, Wesley Deal; a brother, Tommy Turner and wife Elizabeth; grandson, Landon Washington, and Great Granddaughter, McKinley Hart Washington.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
