SOUTHPORT — Ronald Dale Alcorn, 67, of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Ron was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 19, 1958 and was a son of Marjorie Anna Scarbrough Alcorn and the late Dale Harold Alcorn. In addition to his father, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Robbie Clair Alcorn.
Ron was a graduate of Westerville High School, Westerville, OH. He loved sports especially baseball, basketball, softball, football and golf. He was a member of Bonaire Softball Team of Whitehall, OH, and coached Dixie Boys Youth Basketball, and Baseball in Southport NC. He was also a avid golfer at surrounding Southport area golf courses. He received many awards during his lifetime, but his biggest award was being a loving husband and father.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Jana Elizabeth Lee Alcorn; his mother, Marjorie Anna Scarbrough Alcorn; a sister, Sandee Lee Ryther and spouse Jim; his children, Brandon Ronald Alcorn and spouse Toni, Megan Mae Davis, Erin Paige Bender and spouse Jason, Zackiryea Vincent Alcorn and Spouse Erika, Gabrielle Nycole Alcorn; grandchildren, Luke, Zander, Callie, Nataleigh, Aiden, Eli, Joshua, and Connor and great-grandchild, Novalynn.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
“The thread of my life has run out leaving a fine tapestry. The most beautiful part is the love and loyalty that I shared with my wife Jana. Also knit into the Fabric of my life are my family and friends. Though I am gone please hold me fondly in your hearts without grief as I am with you still in your memories.”
The family would like to show their appreciation to all the friends and family that have helped in this time of need and for all the great memories, they will be forever cherished.
