HAMPSTEAD — Linda B. Register, 85 years old, passed away on February 17, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born in Durham, N.C., to the late Prince Gordon Bizzell and Carrie Bizzell. She met the love of her life in June of 1958, and they were married on the 10th of August that same year.
Together, they had three wonderful children: David (Cindy), Mike (Tonia), and Missy (David). A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, Linda leaves a legacy of love and light that will continue to shine. She had a true love for crocheting and bird watching; however, the apples of her eye were her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren.
Linda worked at Erwin Mills for a number of years before deciding to begin caring for children in her home. Her faith in the Lord was strong and clear to all who knew and loved her.
Linda is survived by her best friend and husband of 67½ years, Joel Register; her three children, David, Mike, and Missy; her sister, Mary Kyles (Gary); her brother, Paul Bizzell; her grandchildren, Carson Register (London), Jordan Murtagh (M.D.), Samantha Rudd (Hunter), Brittany McKinley (Daniel), David Register (Sarah), Charles Lundy, Tyler Crumpler, and Crystal Register; and her great‑grandchildren, Luca Murtagh, Leo Register, Aubrey Rudd, Layla McKinley, Jamison McKinley, and Carter McKinley.
Linda was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph Bizzell and Bobby Bizzell, and her sisters Betty Slaughter and Doris Lynn.
At her request, a family graveside service has been planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to a charitable organization very dear to her heart: Lake Linda’s Christmas Lights.
