WILMINGTON — Jerry Crawford (JC) Lewis, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington NC.
JC was born, July 23, 1951, in Wilmington NC to Jack and Jo Lewis. He lived at Fort Fisher most of his life. He love to fish, spend time on the beach and in the water. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved working on trucks. JC loved dogs, mostly the family dog PJ, who he spent a lot of time with.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy Ray Lewis. His parents Jack and Jo Lewis, his brother Donald “Red” Lewis and sister Marylee Lewis Honeycutt, step-daughter, Jamie Callicutt and her children and grandchildren,
He is survived by his stepdaughter Inge Cheshire her husband Wayne Cheshire and their children and grandchildren. Stepdaughter Vickie Jennings, her husband Jackie Jennings, their children and grandchildren.
To honor JC’s memory his family will hold a private gathering to celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched their life.
