Daniel “Dan” Bruce Saporito, 73

Daniel “Dan” Bruce Saporito (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Daniel “Dan” Bruce Saporito, age 73, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Dan was born on October 22, 1952, in West Virginia, to Sidney “Sam” and Helen “Bonnie” Saporito, who preceded him in death, along with his brother Andy Lee Saporito. He later made North Carolina his home, where he lived until his final day.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara “Barb” June Saporito; his siblings Richard Lynn Saporito, Samuel Lewis Saporito, and Joy Lee Martin (Bub Martin). Dan was a devoted father to Paula Marie Shreve (Danny), Misty Michelle Rogers, and Daniel “Danny” Bruce Saporito Jr. (Felicia).

Dan was a proud grandfather, affectionately known as “Pap,” to Ashley Noel, Trevor King, and Haley Lauren Shreve; Bella Reine Rogers; Dylan McDaniel; Elijah Chase; and Daniel Ethan Saporito. He was also a cherished great-grandfather, “Papaw Dan,” to Troy William and Camden Wayne Kenney and Kaesin Eli Saporito.

He is also survived by his nephews Andy Lee Jr., Michael Paul, Richard “Richie” and Ian Saporito, Antonio “Tony” Saporito, Donald “Bubby” Martin, Zachary “Zac” Martin, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dan loved spending time with his family and friends and had a deep passion for riding his trike motorcycle. You could often find him outside his home—grilling in the garage, polishing a motorcycle, or simply enjoying the company of friends. His presence, laughter, and love for those around him will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Dan and Barb’s home on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent via Venmo to @Barbara-Saporito-1 to help with final expenses.
