WILMINGTON — Richard Andrew “Rick” Bohon, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 21, 2026, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 72. Born on September 8, 1953, in Baltimore, MD, Rick lived a life that touched many with his quiet strength and unwavering kindness.
Rick served his country proudly in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea and earned a Sharpshooter Badge, along with the rank of SP4 at the time of his honorable discharge. His service is a testament to his dedication and bravery. He later worked as a Nuclear Technician, a career he held until his retirement.
Rick found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved music and treasured moments spent with friends. The water was his sanctuary, where he indulged in fishing and camping, often surrounded by those he held dear. Despite being a private person, Rick had a remarkable ability to make others feel loved in an indescribable way. His generosity was boundless; he gave without expecting anything in return and offered support without judgment.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia J. Bohon; grandmother, Juanita James; and grandfather, Kenneth C. James. He leaves behind his father, William (Bill) Franklin Bohon; his older brother, Lee Bohon; his younger sister, Christine Bohon; his niece, Jaime Bohon; and his great niece Aurora Rahm.
Rick’s legacy is one of love, friendship, and quiet heroism. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he loved.
