WILMINGTON — David “Allan” Jensen, 87, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on January 20, 2026. Allan was born in Poulsbo, Washington to Dorothy and Harry Jensen. He was one of five children (Adore, Gary, Billy, and Dale, all of whom predeceased him.) He joined the US Navy and proudly served until he was honorably discharged.
He met and married Eleanor (Rode) and they ultimately moved to Edgewater, NJ to raise their family. Allan and Eleanor had three children, Lorraine, Dave and Richie.
He and Eleanor retired to Wilmington, NC in 2000 and made many new friends and enjoyed their life in the south. Allan loved animals (his dogs were affectionately referred to as “my kids”). He was very active and was often seen rollerblading around the neighborhood. He loved gardening and was blessed with a green thumb. He was a long suffering NY Mets and NY Giants fan.
Allan is survived by his daughter Lorraine, his son Dave and wife Patty, and his grandson Matthew. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor and son Richie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and close friends David and Michelle Scibetta and their children Phoenix and Gryphon.
Allan will be interred at Long Island National Cemetery.
