WILMINGTON — Jerry Vann Hull, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on September 1, 1938, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Jerry lived a life marked by hard work and deep family bonds.
A dedicated and skilled welder, Jerry’s craftsmanship was respected by peers and cherished within his community. Beyond his professional achievements, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved restoring furniture, often transforming forgotten pieces into cherished heirlooms. The beach was his sanctuary, a place where he found peace and relaxation alongside his family, whom he loved most of all; he loved his Chester, SC family on his moms side, growing up some on the dairy farm with his cousins.
Jerry was a devoted member of Peace Baptist Church, where his faith was strengthened through community and service. He valued the teachings of his church and carried them within his heart throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul Hull and Violet Stephenson Hull; a cherished grandson, Clay; his brothers, Gene Hull and Leroy Hull; and his beloved pet, Dixie Blue.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jackie Jones Hull; his devoted son, Dale Hull; two caring daughters, Teresa Glass and Jolene Hearn; and five adored grandchildren: Courtney, Lindsey, Stephanie, Elijah, and Hunter Ellis. He also leaves behind one precious great-grandchild, Annabelle a special pet Maggie, as well as a host of many relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
