WILMINGTON — Janet Perez Davis, aged 70, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Wilmington, NC. Born June 19, 1955, in Chicago, IL, Janet led a life marked by service, learning, and love.
A proud veteran, Janet dedicated 20 years to the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Army, retiring with the distinguished rank of Sergeant. Her commitment to her country was paralleled by her dedication to education. She held multiple master’s degrees—in Business, Health Psychology, Clerical Studies, and Culinary Arts. Janet’s academic pursuits reflected her unending curiosity and passion for learning.
Janet was an active member of the Veteran Association and a benefactor of Hinsdale College, where she made significant contributions to the community she cherished. Known for her radiant smile and boundless energy, she brought warmth and light into the lives of those around her.
Her love for cooking and pastries was well known, and she found immense joy in sharing her culinary creations with family and friends. Cooking shows were a favorite pastime, inspiring her to explore new flavors and dishes. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Janet’s heart was happiest at home, surrounded by her beloved cats, Coco and Jelly Bean.
Janet is survived by her son, Kreg Davis; her granddaughter, Sayuri Athena; her mother, Irma Rodriguez; her father Juan Antonio Perez her brother, Wigiberto Perez; and her two devoted cats. She will be remembered as a bright light in a dark world, always smiling, and full of love and energy.
