WILMINGTON — Mary Louise Emerson, 102, of Porters Neck Village, Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully December 6, 2025, with her daughters by her side.
Mary Lou was born June 21, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of Attorney, Hiram Franklin Stillman and Edna Fritz Stillman. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Frederick R. Emerson, her daughters, Suzanne Buckingham (Bruce)and Bonnie Davis, her sisters, Betty Barber and Alice Ogden.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving daughters Barbara Pulliam (Zane) and Deborah Michael. She also leaves her stepchildren Barbara Emerson, Sandra Emerson Helmer (Peter) and Jay Emerson (Julie). She also leaves many adored grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Justin, Greg, and Robert. Plus, many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mary Louise was a member of The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century and a long-time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
A private family burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington Virginia.
