WILMINGTON — Pamela (Pam) Jean Roland, 71, died peacefully on October 21,2025 at the Hospice Care Center of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC. She was born on December 26,1953 to Perry Vincent Hagley and Dorothy Mae Brown Hagley in Huntington, WV.
Pam grew up in West Virginia, graduated from Huntington East high school, and after graduation spent the next several years caring for her chronically ill mother while working at the local Kroeger Supermarket. After her mother passed away, she married Charles David Roland and the couple moved to Fayetteville, NC and shortly thereafter settled in Wilmington, NC. While in Wilmington, Pam graduated from UNCW with a BA in Psychology and attended classes at ECU toward a master’s in social work. She spent her working years in Wilmington at Hanover Medical Specialists as a supervisor for medical records and later as front desk coordinator. She was described by everyone who knew her as the sweetest person I ever met.
Pam found pleasure in the simple things in life like her favorite television shows, her collection of Precious Moments figurines and dolls, and decorating for Christmas. She loved being a mother to her son, Zeke, had a wonderfully close relationship with her brother Rod, and a deep love for her Lord Jesus Christ.
Pam was blessed to have spent the last four years of her life at Trinity Grove and was described as having brought joy and light to the families, residents, and staff there. “She was so special and a friend to us all.”
In addition to her parents, Pam was predeceased by her brother Michael Hagley. She is survived by her son, David Ezekiel Roland (Sarah), her brother, Rodney Dale Hagley (Pamela) and her niece Kathryn Belinda Bloor (Steve).
The family wishes to thank the staff of Trinity Grove, the staff at the 17th Street Davita Dialysis Center, and the staff at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for their loving and compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited to share memories, photos, and condolences here.
