WILMINGTON — Paul Edison McGinnis, 54, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24.
Born on December 3, 1970 in Wilmington, NC, he is the son of the late Edward Wayne McGinnis and Carolyn Sue McGinnis.
He is survived by his siblings, Bryan McGinnis (Mencie), Stan McGinnis, and Andrea Musilunas (MIk). In addition to his siblings, he is survived by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
His greatest joy was watching his nieces and nephews (Jessica, Ashley, Bradley, Hannah, Morgan, Mako, Everly and Abbie grow up as children. Paul always had a way of bringing a bright smile to each of them and would always stir up a dish in the kitchen or give them a big ole’ snack. He had a passion for the outdoors including camping, hunting and fishing. We are positive he’s telling a big fish story to all our loved ones in heaven. Paul attended Emsley A. Laney High School and later went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for a couple of years.
Paul will be greatly missed but we rest in peace knowing he is no longer in pain.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Sharon and her team as well as Isaiah Gillespie who always maintained a special friendship with Paul and was always there to help him.
