Ann Theresa Guardia (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

WILMINGTON — Ann Theresa Guardia, affectionately known as “Curly Q” died on September 27th 2025 at 6:14 pm. in Dr. Robert M. Fales Hospice Pavilion-Lower Cape Fear Life Care facility in Wilmington, NC.

She was born on October 4th 1950, daughter to the late Thomas & Sally McDonagh. Ann and her siblings, twin brother “Tommy”, Mary, Peggy and Peter are the 1st generation of McDonagh’s born in America.

Ann’s dad Thomas McDonagh, fought for our country’s freedom and was in the “Battle of the Bulge”. Returning home and with his loving wife Sally, they raised a Family that loved our country. His patriotism was instilled in the McDonagh Family. Ann was very proud to be an American and embraced our country’s values, something she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Finishing school, Ann began a career working in Manhattan for General Motors Leasing Division. After several successful years of working for GM she decided to become a loving Wife and Mother. She devoted herself to raising three wonderful children, teaching Catechism and becoming the Grandmother of two beautiful Grandchildren.

Most recently before becoming ill, she enjoyed her position at Wilmington Health knowing she was helping people. She worked there for over 10 yrs. until her health forced her into early retirement.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Vito Nicholas Guardia Sr., two daughters, Tara Ann and Laura Ann Guardia, both of Wilmington, NC., and her son Vito Guardia Jr. of Vernon, NJ. with two beautiful Grandchildren, Joseph and Madison Guardia.

A funeral Mass will be held at 2pm Thursday, October 9th 2025 at the Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary in Wilmington, NC., served by Father Jairo Maldonado. Internment will follow in the Memorial Garden and Columbarium at Saint Mary.

The Family will receive Friends on Wednesday, October 8th 1-3 pm & 4-6 pm at Andrews Funeral Home Market Street Chapel Wilmington, NC., 28401.
