WILMINGTON — Arleen Glasgow Tanner, age 94, of Denver, NC, and formerly of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Mrs. Tanner was born September 21, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Clyde and Mabel Apple Glasgow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dale Tanner; daughter, Sherry Tanner; and sister, Merilyn Glasgow. Arleen worked as a clerk typist and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She also loved to garden, was an avid reader, and a loyal Atlanta Braves fan.
She is survived by a son, Douglas Tanner (Paula) of the home; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Hettie Tanner of Denver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice, or to Wexford House, 3900 Wexford Lane, Denver, NC 28037.
