WILMINGTON — With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Joseph Cameron Taylor, age 34, of Wilmington, North Carolina, on July 2, 2025, in Carolina Beach. Born on September 24, 1990, to Billy Dwain Taylor (Debbie) and Marsha James Burn (Bobbie).
Cameron married his soulmate, Ashley, in 2020. They greatly enjoyed life with their two children, Noah Austin Honeycutt (10) and Savannah Grace Taylor (21 months). His family was his greatest treasure, and their adventures together—fishing on the boat, fixing things, riding four-wheelers, and playing Noah’s favorite video games—were filled with laughter and love. The Taylors could be found enjoying meals at local restaurants in Carolina Beach, where Cameron was a beloved friend, known for his bright spirit and kind heart.
As the proud owner of Taylor’s Heating and Air LLC, Cameron dedicated himself to building a successful business alongside his father. He was a generous soul, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement. His ability to uplift those around him and inspire them to embrace life’s adventures—even with a little mischief—was truly remarkable.
Cameron was a man of dreams and determination, achieving his goals through hard work and perseverance. He had his scuba diver certification and was a fishing enthusiast, cherishing the moments spent traveling with Ashley and their children, creating lasting memories that will forever be held close to their hearts.
Cameron’s spirit, kindness, and enthusiasm for the thrilling things in life will be profoundly missed by all. He leaves behind a loving family and a community that will forever treasure his warm heart and mischievous smile.
He is survived by his parents, Billy Dwain Taylor (Debbie) and Marsha James Burn (Bobbie), his cherished wife Ashley, and their beloved children, Noah and Savannah Grace. He also leaves behind his adopted daughter through love, Amber “sis” Coburn, his sister Rain James (Chris), and his nephew, Jackson James. His mother-in-law, Donna Herring and grandmother-in-law, Kay “Grams” Engstrom, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cameron was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A celebration of Cameron’s life will be a vibrant tribute to his outdoorsy nature. We invite you to join us at Lifepoint Church Pine Valley, 3600 South College Rd., Wilmington, NC, on Wednesday, July 9, at 11 AM, with visitation and viewing beginning at 10 AM. In honor of Cameron, please come dressed in your best, most colorful boat or fishing attire.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the college fund for Noah and Savannah in Cameron’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
