WILMINGTON — Ora Grace Stein, age 99 of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. She was born in Benson, NC on October 6, 1925, to Robert Clellan Hockaday and Lula Bright Johnson Hockaday.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Albert Berelowitz and Leon Stein; brothers: William Hockaday and Robert Hockaday; sisters: Zua Moore and Sally Stapleford.
She is survived by her stepdaughters: Marsha Yaschik and husband Dennis of Atlanta, GA, Lena Craven and husband Tommy of Wilmington, NC, Amy Eubanks of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren: Michael and Ariella Yaschik, Mark and Karly Yaschik and David Smith; great grandchildren: Avi Yaschik, Shoshana Yaschik, Nechama Yaschik, Estee Yaschik and many devoted nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stein was lovingly cared for by Steve and Martha Stein and her longtime friend Lin de Illy. The family would also like to thank all her fabulous caregivers.
