Jaime Renee (Statler) Fennell, 48

Jaime Renee (Statler) Fennell (Quinn McGowen Funeral Home)

WILMINGTON — Jaime Statler Fennell passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington after a long courageous battle with cancer which she fought with dignity and grace. Throughout her stay at Novant Health NHRMC, UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill and ending at the hospice care center her numerous caregivers all stated that Jaime was one of the strongest women that they had ever cared for.

She was born July 16, 1976 in Waynesboro, PA, the daughter of Clifford “Cliff” Statler, Jr. of Burgaw and Betsy Dull Strange of McColl, SC.

In addition to her parents Jaime is survived by her husband, Jason Vernon Fennell; daughter, Logan Lorraine Fennell; son, Jasper Fennell; brother, Joseph Statler (Paula Kuykendall) and their children, Elisabeth, Kendall, and Cade Statler; uncles, Harold Statler and Niles “Sonny” Horton; aunt, Linda Potts (Darrell); half-brother, Steven Strange; and many extended family and friends. Jaime was preceded in death by her aunts, Debbie Satler and Sharon Horton.

With heartfelt appreciation to dear friends, Andrea and Tim Westcott, Olen and Bobbie Smith, Brandon and Amanda Diggs, Chris and Jessica DeBose, Lisa Feith and Zoi Feith, all who have given their love, care and support to Jaime and Jason during Jaime’s battle with cancer.

Jaime was the BEST Mom to Logan and Jasper, outstanding wife to Jason, loving daughter to her parents, caring daughter-in-law to Cynthia and Vernon, special “sister” to Heather (who is still with us in spirit) and a good sister to brother, Joe. Jaime loved the game of softball, playing it in her school years and cheering her children on when they were playing sports. She was known as the Softball MOM. The light of her love, the tenderness of her care, the warmth of her presence brightened the lives of those whose lives Jaime touched.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Rev. Dean Walker conducting the service. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow the funeral service at Riverview Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial gift to SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals, 123 Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517 or Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, NC 28401.
