CAROLINA BEACH — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryan C. Hegele, who was taken from us far too soon. Bryan, beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend, passed away at his home on June 17, 2025 in Carolina Beach.
Bryan is survived by his parents Chris and Rose Hegele of Raleigh, N.C.; his sister, Jessica Kettler, her husband, Ryan Kettler and his treasured niece and nephew, Eloise and Easton also of Raleigh, N.C.; several uncles, aunts and cousins; a significant number of great friends; his two faithful dogs, Zoe and Rosie; and Isabella Perez, whom he loved dearly.
He had a huge heart and an extraordinary ability to connect with people; he truly never met a stranger. His vibrant personality lit up every room he entered, and his compassion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Above all, Bryan loved deeply and lived fully. Whether spending time with family, laughing with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with his dogs (aka his “girls“), he brought joy and comfort to those around him.
To honor his memory, a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 1-3pm at the Sunny Daze Smokehouse in Carolina Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Paws Place Dog Rescue or the Carolina Beach Police Foundation.
Bryan’s absence leaves a space that can never be filled. His spirit, laughter, and love will be missed and remembered always.
