WILMINGTON — Carolyn “Yvonne” Insco, born on June 15, 1936, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 88. Yvonne was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
Yvonne dedicated much of her life to her family and her work. She served as Vice President of SeaCoast Seafood, where her leadership and dedication alongside her husband were instrumental in the company’s success. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Yvonne was a devoted homemaker, creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family.
Her passions included sewing and spending quality time with her loved ones. Yvonne’s skill with a needle and thread was matched only by her ability to bring joy and comfort to those around her.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Doris Dickens Odom and Lawrence Chesley Odom. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 70 years, Alton Insco; her daughters, Angela Riggs and her husband Charlie, and Renee Insco and her husband Bill; her grandson, Ivey Riggs and his wife Cara; and her great-granddaughter, Lilly Riggs. She also leaves behind her brother, Ronnie Hugh Odom and his wife Patsy.
Though no services are scheduled at this time, Yvonne’s family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
