SOUTHPORT — John T. “JT” Sprenkle, Sr. 82 of Southport, North Carolina passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025 surrounded by his cherished loved ones.
JT was born August 1, 1942 in Richmond, Virginia, son of the late Clarence and Leah Sprenkle. He lived in Richmond his whole life until moving to Southport in 2014. He was a member of Beach Road Baptist Church and a faithful member of Pastor Jimmie Perryman’s Connect Group. He was a proud member of the Sea Notes Choral Society. JT was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and was always a loyal Hokie.
He is survived by his wife, Chickie Sprenkle; four children, John T. Sprenkle, Jr., Warren Tyler Sprenkle, Carrie E. Carroll, and Kathryn M. Marty and husband Hugh Caperton; two grandchildren, Andrew W. Carroll, Jr., and Celeste V. Carroll; a sister, Kathleen Lisagor; several nieces and nephews; numerous friends who had become his chosen family; and his beloved dog Gracie. Mr. Sprenkle was preceded in death by a loving daughter, Stacey Sprenkle and a brother, Clarence William Sprenkle.
