WILMINGTON — Patrice Braxton LaMar, 75, passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was born on April 25, 1949, in Burlington, North Carolina.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Patrice dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She graduated from Walter M. Williams High School before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Elon College. Her kindness, unwavering love, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
In October 2024, Patrice and her husband relocated to Wilmington to be closer to their son, Heston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris B. Braxton and Archie I. Braxton; her son, Connelly B. LaMar; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Blackwell.
Patrice is survived by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 56 years, Robert K. LaMar; her son, Heston C. LaMar, and his wife, Savana; her cherished grandsons, Robert “Knox” LaMar II and William “Stanton” LaMar; and her brother, Kyle S. Braxton, and his wife, Joyce.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the chapel at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington on Saturday, March 22, at 1:00 PM, followed by mausoleum entombment.
Patrice will be remembered for her boundless love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
