SOUTHPORT — Carol Ann Gray, 73, of Southport passed away March 12, 2025.
Born August 31, 1951 in Currituck, NC, she was a daughter of Richard and Mildred Gray. She was a Veteran of the Vietnam War at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. She was an activist for homeless veterans in Florida. She helped to take care of her mother and subsequently also helped the elderly who also lived there. She moved to Southport 18 years ago to be close to her sister.
She was a member of Ocean View United Methodist Church in Oak Island. Carol loved music and was an outgoing individual who never met a stranger.
She is survived by her sisters, Orphia “Sis” Hoppes, and Robin Gray; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Wayne Gray and Willie Gray.
Memorial contributions can be made in Carol’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Per her wishes, there will be no public service.
