WILMINGTON — Linda Edge Barber, age 79, of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. She was born to Shelton and Ella Edge who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter: Lindsay M. Benton; two sisters: Joyce Blackwell and Jean Johnson.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Ron Barber; a daughter: Kellie Ekstrom (Brett), a son: Craig Barber, three grandsons: Jarrett Benton, Nicholas Barber and Ethan Barber, four brothers: Jerry Edge (Ully), Joe Edge, Danny Edge (Debbie), and David Edge (Kathy), and many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Worth Business College in Fayetteville, NC, where she met her husband and she worked at IFCO in Fayetteville, NC. She was a Daycare Director for many years. She was very talented and loved to sing, play the piano, craft, and play cards with her family. After her husband retired, they bought a house in the mountains of North Carolina. She absolutely loved the mountains. She loved her family and friends, especially when people came to visit them in the mountains. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a faithful servant of The Church of God. She loved God, her church and her church family.
Pallbearers will be Jarrett Benton, Nicholas and Ethan Barber, Brett Ekstrom, Terry Lee, and Jimmy Williams.
