WILMINGTON — With heavy hearts and an enduring sense of gratitude, we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Campbell, who departed this world on February 23, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born in Ossining, New York, on November 19, 1937, Elizabeth lived a life characterized by compassion, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Elizabeth devoted her career to caring for others as a registered nurse, working at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (Novant Health) and the Davis Community until her well-earned retirement. Her gentle spirit and keen sense of empathy touched the lives of countless patients, making their moments of vulnerability a bit more bearable with her comforting presence and expert care.
Above all, Elizabeth cherished the times spent with her family, finding immeasurable joy and fulfillment in their laughter, love, and shared moments. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved deeply.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Henry Young and Elizabeth Smith Young, Elizabeth’s memory will be carried forward by her devoted husband, Kenneth “Ken” Charles Campbell, with whom she shared over 50 beautiful years of marriage. She is also survived by their five children, cherished grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each a testament to her nurturing spirit and love.
