George F. Carr (Andrews Mortuary and Crematory)

LELAND — Dr. George F. Carr, of Leland, NC, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, after a long illness.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Dr. Bernard Carr and Elizabeth A. (Klein) Carr. He graduated from MMI Preparatory School in Hazleton, PA, earned a B.S. in Business from Mount St. Mary’s College, and a Master of Science from Bloomsburg University. He obtained his D.M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, specializing in Prosthodontics and Oral Implantology.

Dr. Carr built a respected practice in Allentown, PA, where he was an expert in facial prosthetics for over 25 years. He was active in local and national dental associations and taught Implant Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine as an adjunct professor.

A passionate golfer, Dr. Carr played at the collegiate level and enjoyed time on the course with family. He was a member of Brookside Country Club in Allentown and Magnolia Greens Golf Club in Leland.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann, of Leland, NC; daughter, Danielle Carr (Heather) of Hazleton, PA; son, Devin Carr (Katie) of Pittsburgh, PA; and grandchildren, Carter Bloch, Jamison Carr, and Kira Carr. A private service will be held for immediate family.
