LELAND — Deacon John Henry Sloan, age 103, of Leland passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024.
A celebration of Deacon Sloan’s life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2024 at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, 88 Snowfield Rd. SE, Leland, NC 28451. A viewing will be held one (1) hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
His love and memories will remain in the heart of his wife of 55 years, Eliza Baptist Sloan of the home; children, Dr. L’Tanya Spinelli (Joseph) of Long Beach, NY, William E. Webb, Nikita Webb James and James T. Webb all of Leland, NC, Ronald Sparks (Cheryl) of Wilmington, NC, Willie Sloan (Digna), Betty Johnson (Roscoe), Anne Parker (Carl), Rubin T. Sloan all of Leland, NC;; son-in-law, Joseph Jenkins of Leland, NC; brother-in-law, Leon Baptist of Philadelphia, PA; sister-in-law, Marietta Bland of Killeen, TX, 52 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
