CAROLINA BEACH — Yuzo Ito (“Ito”), 84, of Carolina Beach, NC, passed away on November 4, 2024.
Ito is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mitsuyo, daughters Chiaki and Kasumi (Patrick), grandson Kenji, niece Setsuko McNabb (Rob), and great-nephews Matthew, Luke, and Cole.
Ito was the CEO of Fujicone, a speaker cone manufacturing company located in Clinton, NC. After retiring from Fujicone, Ito and his wife operated Tokyo Deli, a Japanese restaurant and grocery in Wilmington, NC for 10 years.
He was a third degree rank in the Japanese martial art of Kendo, swimmer, and an accomplished ice hockey player. He was an avid golfer and was involved in the development of The National Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC. He enjoyed reading, playing Igo, photography, watching sports and sumo tournaments, spending time with his grandson, and taking care of his Chihuahua, Happy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the memory of Yuzo Ito to Paws Place Dog Rescue.
