HAMPSTEAD — Robert “Bob” Wayne Hudson, 75, of Hampstead, North Carolina passed from this earthy life to his eternal rest on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
He was born on December 9, 1948, and was the son of the late Edward Williams and Elma Batts Hudson. Bob was also preceded in death by his brother Edward Thomas Hudson.
Bob was retired as a lab analyst with General Electric Nuclear Division after 36 years of service. He and Vickie attended The Gathering at Surf City.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 50 years, Vickie Rivenbark Hudson of the home; their sons, Robert “Robbie” Wayne Hudson, Jr and wife Melisa and Richard Tyler Hudson and wife Clair, all of Hampstead; grandchildren Hailey Jeanine Hudson, Robert Wayne “Trace” Hudson, III, Joshua Keith Hudson, Jacob Thomas Hudson, Brookelyn Farah Hudson, Bryler Faith Hudson and Zander McCabe; sister-in-law Muriel Hudson, nieces Lynette Hudson and Jennifer Hudson; special exchange students Motoyori Yamaguchi, Baudien vanderHam, Cynthia Felix, Kaori Nakaza and Christian Coronel; numerous extended family and friends that loved Bob dearly.
Bob was a loving husband and caring father and grandfather. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simplest things in life, but his greatest joy was family. With a witty personality and a love for people, Bob never met a stranger. He was a teaser and loved to laugh and to make others laugh with him. His passion was mowing grass for everyone who would let him, working in his woodworking shop making trinkets to give away to family and friends and cooking the best biscuits in the world. Bob also loved to sing and would share his God-given talent at churches, weddings and funerals. Bob will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
