WILMINGTON — Paul Robin Trotman, Sr., 69, of Rocky Point, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Henderson, NC, on December 10, 1954, to the late Harry and Rebecca Mayo Trotman.

Paul served his country proudly for 6 years in the US Air Force before entering the US Coast Guard Reserves. He then served honorably for 22 years in the reserves. Paul worked for 40 years as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and was treasurer of the National Association of Letter Carriers Union Branch #464 for 30 years. He was president of the Winter Park Optimist Club where he loved sports and enjoyed coaching his children when they were young. He later coached baseball at Heide Trask High School where he was the President of the HTHS Booster Club. In his free time, Paul loved to watch and cheer on the UNC Tar Heels and Carolina Panthers. To know Paul was to love Paul. He never met a stranger, would help anybody, and give them the shirt off his back. He was a devoted husband and father who loved and supported his family dearly and will be missed by them deeply.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Kimberli Griffin Trotman; son, Paul “Rob” Robin Trotman, Jr. (Jennifer); daughters, Elizabeth “Gray” Trotman Gainey (Travis), Allyson Wiggs (Hays Shumaker); brothers, Harry Trotman (Ruth), Jim Trotman; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Jones (Mike); grandchildren, Parker Trotman, Waverly Trotman, Paxton Gainey; sister-in-law, Fran Trotman (Bill); his best friend, Mike Alabaster; his beloved dog, Max; and a number of other family members and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by parents and his brother, William “Bill” Trotman.
