Patricia Ann Holt Blizzard, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed away on Saturday November 2, 2024, in her hometown of Wilmington, NC, at the age of 78. Born on December 7, 1945, in Wilmington, she was the cherished daughter of the late William Alex Holt and Virginia Blanton Holt.
Pat graduated from New Hanover High School with the Class of 1964. Throughout her life, she held various jobs, but her true passion was taking care of children. With great pride and love, she ensured that every child in her care felt cherished, often ironing her grandbabies’ clothes before sending them off to school each day.
She is preceded in death by parents, her beloved sons Kevin and Joey Wyatt; brothers Jack and Donald Holt; sister Linda Holt; and grandson Jace Lopez.
Pat is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, Vernon (Lee) Blizzard, and her son Michael Wyatt of Burgaw, NC. She also leaves behind her step-daughter Shannon Blizzard and step-son Brandon Blizzard, both of Wilmington, NC. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandsons: Jacob Blizzard and wife Abigail of Hope Mills, NC, Jonathan Hayes of Wilmington, NC, Seth Blizzard and partner Adriana of Wilmington, NC, and Jake Shifflett-Hawkins of New Bern, NC. Her great-grandchildren Sophia Blizzard and Theodore Blizzard will forever hold her memory dear.
Pat is also survived by her sisters Ovaline Holt Jenness and Alma Holt Fennell, both of Wilmington, NC; brothers Thomas Holt and wife Rosa of Roanoke, VA, and William Holt and wife Barbara of Leland, NC. She is fondly remembered by her special friends Lynette Bryan and her children Madison and Matthew Bryan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, whom she doted over.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Home Care and LifeCare Center for their compassionate support during Pat’s transition to her eternal home.
Patricia Ann Holt Blizzard will be remembered for her boundless love, her nurturing spirit, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those she loved and cared for so dearly.
