WILMINGTON — With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Kadee Elizabeth Sanford, who left this world far too soon on October 17, 2024, at the age of 21 after being involved in an accident.
She was born on June 18, 2003, in Chatan-Cho, Okinawa, Japan to her loving parents, William M. Sanford and Kellie (Woodall) Sanford. Kadee brought light and joy into the lives of everyone she met.
Kadee was a one-of-a-kind soul—spunky, outgoing, and undeniably the life of every party. Her energy was infectious and her laugh was contagious. She had a zest for life that was as loud and fun as it was energetic.
Never one to sit still, Kadee had a knack for building fences with her dad, who was not just her father but also her best friend. Their bond was undeniable, whether they were constructing something new or simply enjoying each other’s company.
She cherished spending time with her beloved dogs, Moose, Samuel, and Goose, whose loyalty and love mirrored her own. She recently developed a love for cooking and baking, she was always eager to learn new recipes and experiment in the kitchen, with her husband as her taste tester. Above all, Kadee simply enjoyed living life, enjoyed the moment she was in with the people she was with.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Matthew A. Goodwin, who adored her spunk and beautiful spirit; and her dear sisters, Kasey and Kaleigh Sanford. Each of them carries a piece of Kadee’s loving spirit in their hearts.
To honor Kadee’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, those who knew and loved her are encouraged to celebrate her life in their own way.
Kadee’s uniqueness was unmatched; she truly was one of a kind. Her presence filled every room with warmth and excitement, drawing people toward her like a magnet. Her spunky nature and genuine kindness made her a friend to many and a cherished daughter and sister.
Though her time with us was short, Kadee’s impact was profound and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
