WILMINGTON — Rita Hause, a native of New York, left this earthly life on Sunday, October the 6, to joyfully rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Pastor Charles J. Hause, her childhood sweetheart, and by her parents, Margaret and John Feeney, her brother Buddy Feeney, her daughter Diane Hause and her two grandsons, Brian and Nathan Booth.
Rita is survived by her four children, Barbara Booth, Charlie Hause and wife Debbie, Robert Hause and his wife Kimberly, and David Hause.
Rita also leaves behind 7 Grandchildren (Shawn, Jordan, Ashley, Wesley, Lauren, Tiffany and Matthew) and one Great Grandchild, Rowan.
Rita was a devoted Pastor’s wife and a friend to so many people. Many will recall her cheerful “How Do?” which was her signature greeting. There will be numerous people that will grieve her passing, from churches throughout the State of NC and all the way to England, where she ministered with her husband.
So many people were touched by her life, friendship and kindness with her visits with them in hospitals and nursing homes, always giving an uplifting word. We know the church family will miss seeing Rita, always the faithful servant in worship.
A celebration of Rita’s life will be held on Friday, October the 11 at 1 p.m., at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, Wilmington, and will be conducted by Reverend Dr. Tim Reaves and Reverend Barry Stallings.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Pine Valley Methodist Church or Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
