SOUTHPORT — Patsy Lea Leach Wood, age 92, of Southport, North Carolina passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024.
Mrs. Wood was born December 21, 1931, daughter of the late William Albert Leach and Ethel Zelma Leach. Patsy was a lifetime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a past-member of the Brunswick Town Chapter of the DAR. She was a member of Southport Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two children, Ted Wood and wife Brenda, and Kimberly Caison and husband Willie; four grandchildren, Steve Wood and wife Shanetta, David Wood, Heidi Bowling and husband Clint, and Jason Whitt; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Kathy Leach.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Theodore S. Wood, Sr.; and a brother, William Albert Leach, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in the Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eddie Hicks officiating. The family will have visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. Entombment will be private for the family.
