ROCKY POINT — Kathleen Daniel Wood, 79, of Rocky Point, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.
She was born on September 11, 1945, in Elizabethtown, to the late James Roland Daniel and the late Rosa Lee (Downing) Daniel.
Kathleen, a devout Christian, was a member at Fellowship Baptist Church in Wilmington where she loved to sing in the choir. She enjoyed sweets and chocolate cake. Kathleen was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family, and she will be greatly missed by them.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Willis and husband, Johnny; brothers, Charles Daniel and wife, Karen Sue, James Roland Daniel, Jr.; grandson, David Peck; nephews, Murray Daniel and wife, Kim, Brian Daniel and wife, Ressa, Rocky Watson and wife, Debbie, Chris Hestor, Reese Daniel and fiancé, Kimberly McCarty; niece, Christie Bullard and husband, Heath.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Watson and Virginia Stuart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.
Kathleen’s funeral service will be at noon on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Arnold Griffin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington.
