WILMINGTON — Ann J. Lowery, born August 4, 1945, in Winston Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 79.
Ann’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and service to others. She dedicated many years of her professional life to Piedmont Gas Company in Winston Salem, where she forged lasting friendships and made significant contributions.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ann’s heart was full of creativity and generosity. She found immense joy in making crafts, sharing her beautifully made creations with family and friends. Her true calling, however, was her unwavering commitment to her church community. As an active church member in both Winston Salem and in Leland, Ann spent countless hours volunteering, bringing comfort and support to those around her.
Preceded in death by her cherished parents, Claude and Margie James, Ann leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Robert T. Lowery, Jr., whose love and companionship were constants throughout her life.
Friends and family are invited to honor Ann’s memory at a visitation on Saturday, September 14, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Town Creek Baptist Church, 832 Green Hill Road NE, Leland. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, with Rev. Billy Shaw presiding.
Ann’s life was a beacon of inspiration to all who knew her. Her kindness, creativity, and dedication to her community will be remembered and cherished forever.
