After graduating from New Hanover High School, Foster served in the U.S. Navy. He later joined Combined Insurance Company, earning the highest sales award, “Grand Diamond,” within his first nine months. His gifting for sales led him to entrepreneurship, securing 5 U.S. patents.

Some of his favorites included Captain Billy’s Seafood, The Odor Motor, The Super Soaker Water Gun, Safety Wise Kids (Child Abduction Prevention), and Scoreboards of America. His passion for golf and business culminated in his retirement after establishing a national company, Scoreboards of America, and acquiring a golf course in St. Augustine, FL.

In his personal life, Foster was known for his charismatic personality, humor, and wit. Everyone who knew him knew he loved the Lord. He served on staff with James Robinson’s ministry and loved to share his faith with others.

Foster was preceded in death by his parents, his five sisters: Crystal, Sylvia, Martha, Hilda, and Phyllis, and his grandson, Christopher Parker. He is survived by his three children, Paige Oliver, Wayne Oliver (Dawn), and Brandy Wilcox (Matt), and six grandchildren: Brittany, Corbin, Foster, Wyatt, Savannah, and Houston. Foster’s children would like to thank the entire Gentiva Hospice Team for the love, care, compassion, and dignity their father received, it was nothing short of amazing. He now knows the freedom, abundance, and beauty he worked so hard for on earth.
