WILMINGTON — Mark Rol, 63, of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
He was born on October 15, 1960, in Kenya, to John Rol and the late Else (Rodenboog) Rol.
For over 30 years, Mark was a Business Manager and Project Controls Manager for Morrison Knudsen Corporation, an international construction and engineering firm. He was an avid golfer, loved to go sailing with his wife, snow ski, and play tennis. Mark was a delightful, kind person with a big smile who never met a stranger. He was a very laid-back, easy-going guy who loved life and being outdoors
Mark is survived by his wife, Shirley (Parker) Rol; father, John Dick Rol; brother, Eelco Rol; sister, Ellen Monique Mabe and husband, Brad; niece, Taylor Rol; and nephews, Connor Rol, Darren Mabe and wife Annalise, and Brandon Mabe

A memorial service will at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Jim Newkirk officiating.
