WILMINGTON — George Munson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 4, 1946, in Chester, PA, George lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service.
George married the love of his life, Maria Anne Munson, on February 22, 1975. They shared 49 wonderful years together, filled with love and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his brother James Munson, sister-in-law Susan Munson, mother Doris Munson, and father George Munson.
George is survived by his beloved wife Maria, his brothers Robert Munson and Stephen Munson (Mary Kay Munson), and his three children: Christopher Munson (Maureen Knapp), Jennifer Munson (Johnny Collins), and Justin Munson (Natalie Benz). He was a proud grandfather to Lillian, Maisie, Milo, Penelope, Dax, and Ruby.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, George also served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. His service to his country was a source of great pride for him.
George had a passion for maintaining a beautiful lawn and could often be found working on various home improvement projects. He was deeply devoted to his family and spent much of his retirement joyfully taking his grandchildren to and from school and their extracurricular activities.

George’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
