ROCKY POINT — Ginger Melvin Jackson, age 77, of Rocky Point, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2024. Ginger was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on September 18, 1946 to the late William and Virginia Melvin.
Ginger was married to the love of her life Danny Lee Jackson for 57 years. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Ginger cherished her three children, Cookie Hazen, Christopher Jackson, and Cindy Dolin, with deep affection. She was the proud Nana of nine grandchildren: Payton, Tyler, Josh, CeeJay, Jamie, Emma, Jaxson, Lucas, and Faith.
Ginger was not only a shining star, but a true beacon of love, kindness, and generosity that left an indelible mark on the lives of all those fortunate enough to cross her path. With over 30 years of unwavering dedication in the medical field as a Sterile Processing Technician, Ginger became a beloved figure among her peers and colleagues, earning the admiration and respect of everyone she encountered along her remarkable journey. Ginger’s true treasures in life were the priceless moments she shared with her cherished family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Virginia Melvin and her three sisters: Pamela Tartt, Candace Rice and Debbie Little.
She is survived by her husband Danny, her children: Cookie and husband Bob Hazen of Roanoke, Virginia, Chris and wife Christina Jackson of Wilmington, North Carolina and Cindy and husband Nathan Dolin of Palm Coast, Florida; nine grandchildren; her brother Billy Melvin and wife Cheryl of Wilmington, North Carolina and brother-in-laws: Alvin Little of Wilmington, North Carolina, Rob Rice of Wilmington, North Carolina and Michael Tartt of Chinquapin, North Carolina. She will be missed so much by her family and friends. A hole will forever be in their hearts.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 11th at 10:30 AM in the Sunrise Chapel Mausoleum at Oleander Memorial Gardens at 306 Bradley Drive in Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to Northside Church.
