WILMINGTON — Victoria Brunk, 51, lovingly known as Vikki, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at SECU Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice House, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and culinary excellence. Born and raised in Holly Ridge, Vikki was a beloved member of her community.

She was born November 2, 1972, in Wilmington, NC, to the late Marvin Lavern Melton and Carolyn Hines Edwards.

A devoted mother, Vikki’s world revolved around her 13-year-old son, Luke. She was also blessed with the unwavering support and love of her partner, Kailey, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge.

Vikki was the proud owner of the Sea Star Cabana which was more than just a business; it was a place where people gathered to enjoy delicious food, warm hospitality, and the vibrant spirit that Vikki infused into every meal.

Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she delighted in sharing her fantastic dishes with friends, family, and patrons.

Known for her boundless kindness, Vikki touched the lives of everyone she met. Her generosity extended to the four-legged members of the community as well. A true dog lover, Vikki always had a piece of turkey or cheese ready for any dog that crossed her path, earning her the adoration of many furry friends.

Vikki’s legacy of love, generosity, and culinary talent will forever be cherished by her son Luke, her partner Kailey, her family, friends, and the entire community. She will be deeply missed but remembered with fondness and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Ellis Hines, Roxie Hines, Marvin Melton and Alice Melton, 4 dogs – Sambo, Freckles, Max and Cali.

Survivors include her son, Luke Brunk; Partner, Kailey Johnson; 1 dog, Zoey; brother, Robert Melton; sister, Kristin Melton, 4 nieces, 2 nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In this time of sorrow, the family finds comfort in the overwhelming love and support we have received. Your heartfelt condolences, prayers, and acts of kindness have been a tremendous source of strength for us. We are profoundly grateful for your support during this difficult period. Your compassion and generosity have been a testament to the impact Vikki had on so many lives.

A funeral service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, July 9 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at the St. Regis Resort, North Topsail Beach – Onslow Hall, Building 1.
