WILMINGTON — Taylor Hamilton Snead, 72, passed away unexpectantly at his home on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
He was born in Richmond, Virginia on February 24, 1952 to Alice and Fred Hamilton Snead.
Taylor is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kathy Hines Snead, as well as a son Travis Snead (Brandi), daughter Amy Jones(Jonathan), and daughter Lindsay Lonneberg(Soren).
Taylor was affectionately known as “Papa” to Taylor and Thomas Jones and Grayson, Gunnar and Hollis Lonneberg. He is also survived by his sister, Beverley Hill (Sandy) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Taylor had many hobbies which included playing golf with his friends and family, one of his favorite recent memories was attending the 2024 Masters with his son. Taylor also enjoyed tinkering in his garage or yard and will forever be remembered as the family’s auto mechanic. Another hobby he enjoyed was his loyalty to the Parrothead Family as well as being an avid Tarheel Fan.
However, his absolute favorite hobby, was spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them to laugh and use their imagination.
The family will announce a celebration of life for our wonderful “Papa’s” life where beachballs will fly and “Come Monday, It Will Be Alright!”
