WILMINGTON — James Walter Swartz, 50, formerly of Woodbridge, VA. Passed away in his sleep June 4, 2024.
He is survived by His parents, James R Swartz (Sandra) and Charlotte Martin, sister Joyce Ingraham (Ben), Stepsisters Tina Ivins (Larry), Amy Middleton (Steve), and stepbrothers Andrew Martin (Christina) and John Craemer; also, his dearest friends Nathan Hale and Rick Waite.
Walter had a deep love of film and television, connecting his friends to obscure titles that would resonate with them. He loved computers and gaming, and used that love to keep connected with those he cherished but couldn’t be near due to distance. He would go out of his way to help a friend in need, and had a generous heart. Walter had a quirky manner and social awkwardness that endeared him to his friends. He wasn’t afraid to be himself, a quality all too rare in the world, and rarer still in his passing.
There will be a memorial service June 23, 2024 at 4 pm at 5202 Sardou Road, Wilmington, NC.
