WILMINGTON — Ellen Daryl Stephens, age 71, of Wilmington, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

She was born in Duplin County, North Carolina daughter to Herman Leon Craft and Edith Allean Craft. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Stephens and her father, Herman Leon Craft and mother, Edith Allean Craft.

Ellen was known for her passion for hobbies and intellectual pursuits. She spent countless hours in her garden, cultivating a beautiful and serene space that brought joy to her family and neighbors alike. Yard work was more than a chore for her; it was a art form, and her garden was a testament to her dedication and love for nature.

A talented and creative cook, Ellen delighted in preparing delicious meals for gatherings and community events or as comfort when one of her love ones was under the weather. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she had a unique ability to bring people together with food. Whether it was a simple family dinner or a large celebration, Ellen’s cooking was always the plentiful highlight.

Everyone who knew Ellen knew she was also deeply committed to intellectual pursuits. An ordained minister, she spent many years engaged in religious research, seeking to understand and explore her faith with great depth and sincerity. Her studies provided not only personal fulfillment but also inspired and educated those around her.

In addition to religious research, she was passionate about political research. A fervent supporter of Donald Trump, she believed strongly in his vision and policies, often engaging in lively discussions and debates. She was passionate about his insights and analyses , making sure to support and share them anyone and everyone in the community that would listen.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Jackson and her husband Dennis Jackson; sons Costin Stephens and his wife, Chelsea Stephens and Josh Stephens and his wife, Ashleigh Stephens all of Wilmington, NC; 6 grandchildren: Hailey Rose Jackson, Alyssa Lee Jackson, Joshua Maddox Stephens, Kennedy Grey Stephens, Montgomery Blythe Stephens and William “Liam” Costin Stephens III.

Visitation for Ellen will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.

Funeral Service will start at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in the Coble Chapel with Mr. Dennis Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.
