WILMINGTON — In loving memory of Cheryl Ann Landry, and affectionately known as “Cher,” to many family, friends, nieces, and nephews, peacefully transitioned into the embrace of Jesus on May 19, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 74.

Formerly of Baltimore, MD, Cheryl leaves behind a legacy of a life well-lived. Born to John Betz and Anna Janicki Betz, Cheryl graduated from Stevenson University Medical Program in 1969. For 50 years, she dedicated herself to the family, and she spent over three decades serving in the healthcare industry and spent 9 years with Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) before retiring in the summer of 2016. Cheryl was passionate about Boating and Travel. She was a devoted member of Harbor United Methodist Church upon relocating to Wilmington.

She is preceded in death by her deceased husband of 35 years Walter M. Stockett; her parents, and brother Dennis Betz.

Cheryl’s life was characterized by her genuine and appreciative nature. She attributed her many accomplishments to the values instilled in her by her parents, whom she held in high regard. Known for her storytelling prowess, Cheryl lived a fulfilling life marked by travel, laughter, and creating joy for those around her. She never met a stranger and had a talent for connecting with people from all walks of life.

Left to cherish Cheryl’s memory are her loving husband of 7 years, Michael F. Landry, and her two children: Trisha Mullaney (Dan) of New Freedom, PA, and William “Bill” Allely (Heather) of Wilmington, NC; sister Darlene Schlerf (Mark) of Dunnellon, FL; Grandchildren: Chandler and Mychela Allely of Wilmington, NC and Holly Mullaney of Lancaster, PA., along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 3pm, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington, NC.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Harbor United Methodist Church with Pastor Russ Nanney officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at 11:00 AM.
In this time of grief, may the family find solace in the shared memories and the enduring impact of Cheryl’s life.

In lieu of flowers request donations be given to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
