SOUTHPORT — Mary Anne Russ of Murrells Inlet, SC and Southport, NC passed after a brief illness on May 13, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Russ, and her sister, Christy Archer.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Bates (Phillip) and Kim Anne Russ (Kid Caison); grandchildren, Robert Russ Bates (Taylor) and Bailey Bates D’Ambrosio (Scott); great-granddaughters, Eliza Grace D’Ambrosio and Sara Kate D’Ambrosio; brother, Tony Geisman (Barbara); nieces, Clover Archer (Chris Bohner) and Crina Archer; and brother-in-law, Mitch Wasserman.
Mary Anne was born in Ohio, raised in Florida and resided in Southport for 40 years. She had a long career in real estate and was a respected community member and business leader, founding Southport Realty in 2001. She spent her retirement in Florida and later Murrells Inlet, enjoying her family and traveling.
Following a private graveside service for the family, there will be a gathering for friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 119 N. Atlantic Ave., Southport, NC 28461 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
