ROCKY POINT — Sandra Lee Humphrey, 76, passed from her earthly life to her heavenly eternal home on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at her home in Rocky Point.
She was born in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Charles Grant and Alice Irma Dobbelere Grant.
In addition to her parents Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter, Bridget Eileen Whitfield and grandson, Joel Grayson Stanford.
Sandra is survived by her son, Robert “Bobby” Charles Dominique; daughter, Kelly Jo Stanford and her husband, Joel; grandchildren, Danial “Dani” D. Pate (Jordan), Michelle S. Raynor (Nick), Andrew G. Stanford (Courtney), and Hannah Meeks; great grandchildren, Garrett Raynor, Presley G. Raynor, and Decklyn Pate; sisters, Karen Nichols (Wayne) and Roberta “Bobbi” Zamora (Mario); many extended family and friends.
Sandra was a devout Christian and attended Spirit Life Church where she praised the Lord for her many blessings as she overcame the hardships she faced in life. Her joy in the Lord was evident in her everyday life.
She was a big North Carolina Tar Heels fan and supporter. She tried not to miss watching their basketball games.
Kindness, compassion for others, giving and forgiving all described Sandra. She was an outstanding mother, grandmother, sister and friend, loved by family and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home with funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor Ernie Sanchez will conduct the service.
Interment will follow in Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery.
