WILMINGTON — It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Douglas “Scot” Bannerman. Scot passed away surrounded by his family on February 23, 2024.
Scot was born on June 1st, 1956 in Bryan, Texas to Clifton Bowden Bannerman and Marilyn June Bannerman.
Scot is survived by his wife Colleen and his four sons – Christopher (Katie), Jon (Sydney), Connor (Amber), Michael and grandson Everett. Scot is also survived by two sisters, Vivienne Bannerman and Angela Leath.
As an avid believer in organ donation, we pray his transition will bring the precious gift of life to others through “A Legacy of Hope”.
Scot was an avid fisherman who cared deeply for the well-being of our coastal fisheries. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Coastal Conservation Association of North Carolina.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
